A Bathroom Fit for a King starts with antique drawer pulls

You have decided it's time for a bathroom redo. No longer are you going to have a boring, common bathroom, you want something fancy, and regal. How about a Victorian era setting? It's not a difficult transformation.
As you look around the bathroom think of the things you need in this space. Do you have enough storage? Are there spaces that could be repurposed to be more useful? And what do you have that you can use to cut down on the redecorating expenses.
Let's start with the cabinets. Your cabinets are very important as they are the limited storage space you have in your bathroom. Often, if the cabinets you have are not falling apart, they can be made to suit your needs with the addition of a few antique drawer pulls and knobs. You will likely find a wide selection of antique drawer pulls and knobs in your local hardware store, or online, by doing a search for 'antique drawer pulls' or 'antique drawer knobs'. You will have to decide if you want the real thing (which will be expensive) or modern reproductions of antique pieces. Consider repainting the cabinets with a textured marble or other finish, and then adding in those antique drawer pulls to make them look like something that came out of a palace.
If your current cabinet solutions are not enough, you may want to add more drawers and storage areas to your bathroom. If you already have an open shelf in the bathroom, this is a quick transformation. There are retrofit kits that will help you add doors and drawers to this shelving, so you can still have storage, but not have to look at those towels, linens and other items you are putting away. Don't forget to also use the antique drawer pulls and knobs here, to keep the look consistent.
Another underutilized space in the bathroom is above the toilet. There are very cute shelves and cabinets that can be put in this space to offer a few more nooks and crannies to store things that you don’t need the world to see when they are using your restroom. One consideration to make when putting these kinds of shelves in is to make sure the cabinetry is placed higher than the head-level of a seated person, so your guests don't hit their head every time they use the restroom.

If you use a cabinet in the bathroom as your laundry collection area, this would be a good time to consider a little bit of a change up. Installing a roll out cabinet will keep you from being forced to crawl inside at an uncomfortable angle every time you want to clean the clothes.

When adding the finishing touches in this space, remember your theme. Flowering vines (whether real or silk) crawling from elaborate vases, or even a small sculpture or two will go a long way. Think of what someone who is living the life of luxury would decorate with, and you're on the right track.
